My friend Andy and myself's latest photo challenge was 'Turn Back Time'; the idea was to take some photo's that could appear to have been taken in a bygone era. I used a little 'poetic licence' with help from friends Jo, Rich and Bernard and stage managed a couple of my shots. I feel the theme sort of allows you to do that. I decided that all my images would be converted to mono and be in square format (thinking of 120,620,828 film formats),and I also added a 'film type' (Tri-X 400), a subtle Sepia tone and old style borders to a few to give a retro effect. The night shots were taken in Monmouth where the Savoy Cinema is one of the oldest in Wales. I shot from this angle as the Ad board was promoting a modern day film. The village shots of Jo and Richard were taken in Clearwell which has some lovely old buildings. Bernard renovates old cars in an even older garage. The Dean Valley Steam Train is probably a bit of a cheat but seems to complete the set. The set can be found on my project page here. Below are some additional images that follows the theme.
