TIPEC Vulcan Drive

A wonderful day out with a drive to see the iconic Vulcan Bomber at the old RAF base, Wellesbourne, near Stratford on Avon. After our meet up at Dobbie's Garden Centre just off the M5 we were taken on a beautiful route through parts of the Cotswolds and the lovely Warwickshire countryside encountering some pretty big farm vehicles. Lunch was taken at the very accommodating Fox Inn at Loxley, before the short drive to the airbase. There we were split into groups and provided with a guided tour of this amazing aircraft by very enthusiastic volunteers. As well as learning the history of the plane including its pivotal role in the Falklands conflict we were able to scramble into the cockpit and see the structure of the plane from a couple of viewing platforms. All in all, a great day, and as always superbly organised by Tracy and Al.
