Street Photography

Street photography is one of the most challenging but also one of the most rewarding genres of photography. Also sometimes called candid photography, documenting people in their everyday environment is not easy – it requires patience, hard work and even a little bravery to approach and photograph complete strangers. Henri Cartier-Bresson coined the phrase “the decisive moment,” which resonates particularly well with the street photographer’s aim: taking advantage of that split second in which the elements of a photograph come together.

I find cities are an ideal place to capture images of people going about their everyday life amongst the hustle and bustle. But also engaging with individuals, although very challenging can reap great photographic rewards.
