TIPEC Drive - Forest of Dean, Wales and The Wye Valley
Thanks to everyone who made it on my very first TIPEC Drive which took us through the beautiful Forest of Dean, via Monmouth into Wales onto Skenrith and Cross Ash where coffee and biscuits were provided by the lovely Kate, Simon and son Tom at Restaurant 1861. Continuing through Llanarth and over Chain Bridge brought us to Usk for a wander around this pretty village where 'Usk in Bloom' was proudly on display. From Usk we took the wonderful 12 mile B4235 driving road through Gwernesney and Llangwm to Chepstow then along the Wye Valley to our final food stop at the Wye Valley Hotel in Tintern, where lunch was provided by Sue and her team. Apart from the final drive being punctuated by the cycle club, a great day was had by all. Once again thanks to David Deal for his help with the drive and for leading on the day; to Viv Quinn for assisting on my second recce, and to Ted's friend Phil and my friend Pete who contributed significantly to the images below.
