An old railway tunnel has reopened as a walkway/cycle way from Chepstow to Tintern in the Wye Valley. I walked it today and and captured a few images. The lighting is low level due to bats in the tunnel so all of the tunnel shots were taken at ISO 12500; SL2 + 24-90. You can read about the tunnel here: https://www.southwalesargus.co.uk/.../19198146.tidenham.../

Our local village was partially closed off this week whilst an episode of the popular TV series Casualty was filmed. The scene involves an incident on the railway crossing with a classic MGB GT and a young girl in sixties costume. There must have been more than 50 crew and security people with only three or four actors. Although 'challenged' by security I managed to get few photo's of the proceedings.
Thrilled to again have one of my images accepted in the Leica Foto Internationalé gallery for Symbols and Structures. Check out my others here

Getting out and about when it snows isn't always easy but I managed to get down to my favourite place Mallards Pike on a lovely sunny morning. A selection you will find in my Home Page Favourites. This is another that has proved popular on Facebook with over 300 Likes.
It's been a while, mainly due to Lockdown restrictions that I've been able to meet people to chat to on my photographic wanderings, but today I has the pleasure to meet Bernie. Read her story on my Picture Story page here. Whilst the spectre of Covid-19 is still very much hanging over us as we move into this new year, I'm hopeful that with the impending vaccines and the resolve of the British people, light will eventually, if not slowly emerge from this awful darkness. It is with that light that I hope to continue to use whatever time I can get to continue to challenge myself photographically.
One of my plans is to expand on the work I did for the mindSCAPE 'Our Favourite Places' project and roll this idea out across firstly the Forest of Dean, and then if successfully, Gloucestershire and beyond, helping to raise money for the Dementia Action Alliance. Once present restrictions are lifted, I plan to get out and about on the streets again to continue my Street Photography portfolio People Stories. Please come back and visit soon and keep safe and well. I recently embarked on a project for a local dementia group whereby I photographed them in the favourite place and created a photo album with their images in along with a caption as to why it is their favourite place.
