Worcester

Picture
Worcester is a beautiful Cathedral and University City with a fascinating history of industry, and a wealth of interesting architecture.

The city is best known for its magnificent Cathedral but is also famous for the world renowned Worcester Porcelain, the piquant Worcestershire Sauce and the most picturesque cricket ground in the country.

The Battle of Worcester in 1651 was the final battle of the English Civil War, where Oliver Cromwell's New Model Army defeated King Charles II's Royalists.

Worcester is known as the home of composer Edward Elgar, and Berrow's Worcester Journal, claimed to be the world's oldest newspaper.
