CONNECTED LIFE |
It's stuck to your ear or sits on your lap
You swipe and you pinch or give it a tap
You lose control when the signal goes down
To be disconnected is like starting to drown
You share all that you have in so many ways
You tweet, poke and like in a world that is crazed
There's an app for this and an app for that
You have a phone but you app to chat
It's supposed to be social but often it's not
Alone in your space, you're losing the plot
Baring your soul to the cyber stranger
Trying to make friends but courting danger
Sat side by side you still connect
Emojis add to the effect
You have access to everything via the net
To stardom and fortune or even a bet
But what do you do when the power is down
No broadband or wifi, that brings a frown
Perhaps turn to your roommate and offer to talk
Or put on your jacket and go for walk
Take up a hobby or join a club
A concert, the theatre, now here's the rub
To sign up or pay I need to connect
So pass me my tablet and I'll do the rest
