Goodwood Revival 2023
Goodwood describe this event as "the world’s greatest historic motor race meeting, and the only sporting event of its kind to be staged entirely in a period theme. Revival is an immersive celebration of a less disposable world, where “make do and mend” was a way of life".
I'd always wanted to attend this event and this was my first time, and what an amazing event it is too. The racing is of historic vehicles from the late 1940's through to the 1960's, but in many ways the event is as much about the people and activities as it is the racing, and I hope my images reflect that. This year, alongside the high-octane action on the circuit, the Revive & Thrive Village attempted to breathe new life into this ethos, sharing how to revive time-worn treasures. I had a great day out and it was good to catch up with fellow TIPEC members, Ted, Derek and Les, and their friends Andy and Guy; I must come back again, hopefully next year as it was difficult to see everything in one day.

When attending the festival, it's customary to dress to reflect an era. As I could never be considered a 'fashionista', I'm not sure which era I am representing, but I did wear some different clothes. At least the camera fits, my 1946 Leica 111c. If you've considered attending, but never been, I hope my pictures help to give a flavour of how good this event is.
